Nostalgie British & American Legend
Keep the classics coming with this Radiopaq favourite...
If you're a regular Radiopaq listener, you'll have noticed that we keep an eye on the top five radio stations and podcasts you're currently enjoying (so far, we haven't seen any Scandinavian hardcore death metal stations or anything like that creeping into the chart, so we've no questions about your collective taste just yet). You may also have noticed that stations in the Nostalgie network are regularly nudging the top spot. So, here at Radiopaq HQ, we decided to tune in and remind ourselves exactly what it is that keeps you coming back to Nostalgie.
We choose the British and American Legends station and begin, appropriately enough, with a belter from the Bassey ('Where Do I Begin?', also known as the theme tune to Love Story). That's swiftly followed by the Beach Boys with their classic hit Surfin' USA. Then follows Stevie Wonder's Superstition, along with In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry... and, just in case it's all getting a bit too cheerful, there's a tearjerker with Tom Jones, 'Try To Remember'. Sob.
In fact, Tom Jones reappears about ten minutes later, with the singalong romp, 'Help Yourself'. But when it comes to legends, you can't argue with Tom, can you? To be honest, we can see why you're loving the Nostalgie network - it's definitely an escape from the X factor winners / rejects littering the charts today, and every track you'll hear on British and American Legends is an out and out classic. Nice choice, everyone.
